fancy seeing you here...
Hey hey, I'm Rhiannon. I founded sesh following over 10 years of experience - spanning agency life, in-house marketing and running my own B2C business in the wedding industry. So I’ve seen a fair few sides of the marketing world.
I’ve worked on other people's brands, built my own. I’ve sat in meetings, made the content, written the strategy and... respectfully, had more discussions about social algorithms than any one person reasonably should. (I know, what an ick!!)
Essentially, over the years of flitting between self-employment, agency work, in-house marketing and becoming a mum, I came to a realisation I'd never feel totally fulfilled working in a "normal job".
I think a big part of that comes down to how we're taught to think about work.
Having run my own consumer business, I know what it's like to be on the other side of the table. To care about every penny you're spending, to wear a million different hats and to need your marketing to actually make a difference for your business, rather than just looking impressive in a monthly report.

"I would hate to be inside your brain"
-- a previous co-worker.
They're probably not wrong. It's a bit of a circus in here. But that's usually where the best ideas start.
And now, as a busy parent, I also know that there's a whole lot more to life than sitting behind a laptop all day just to pay the bills and do it all again tomorrow.
Saying all that... I am crazy ambitious - and to be honest, wish I could go a few days without thinking up a new business idea. But when it comes to sesh, I want us to be ambitious about our work, without subscribing to the idea that being busy 24/7, physically knackered and mentally drained is a sign we're successful.
I could go on for hours about how sesh came to be, but to save you some time, here's a little peek inside my brain instead:

The whole point of building a business is to create a life you actually want to live, isn't it?

all that ambition deserves to be seen

working to live not living to work

working with brands we care about.

no corporate bull

strategy-led socials. not just what looks pretty.
**trust your gut

let's tell proper stories.

Smart, but never stuffy.
Funny, but never cringe.
Playful, but never childish.
Confident, but never cocky.
Cool, but never trying too hard.
messy, but bloody marvellous.

what if work felt less... worky?

high standards, low stress.

- event content
- social media
- easy websites
- saving time and effort
- making marketing less what the f*ck, more "you got this."
digital marketing without the boring bits

simplicity.
No overcomplicating things or making things harder than they need to be.
quality.
having high standards, caring about the details and not cutting corners.
integrity.
being honest, doing the right thing and sticking to what you believe in.
collaboration.
Working with people, not just for them. Being open to different ideas and perspectives.
balance.
doing good work shouldn't come at the expense of having a life outside of it.
Everyone has their own values, right? They are what shape how we show up in the world, how we make decisions, what drives us to act in certain ways day to day and how we choose to live our lives.
Well, sesh has values too. I've built sesh based on a little bit of me, everything I've learnt over my 30 (odd) years on this planet, lessons I've picked up from the people around me and, essentially, the kind of working world I believe we should all be living in.
And I like working with other people who think kinda similar.
